Well done to the 50 swimmers who competed at the Great Southern Meet in Mt Barker recently. There was rain…wind…rain…sun…wind…rain all day! Everyone did the best they could in the conditions, particularly all the new Dolphins competing for the very first time.
Albany once again took home the trophy, cementing itself as the number 1 club of the Great Southern. Overall, Albany swimmers took home 60 gold, 52 silver and 43 bronze individual medals; and in the relays we got 8 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze.
These incredible achievements are also worth noting:
Tom broke 7 x individual meet records (50 Free, 50 Breast, 50 Fly, 50 Back, 100 Free, 100 Back and 200 IM)
Zac broke 1 x individual meet record (50 Back)
Jake swam a 10 sec PB to win his 50 Breast
Lila took 36 secs off her 400 Free
Poet swam an 11.95 sec PB in her 100 Free and got a state time
Ali & Scarlett both got big PBs in the 100 Breast & 100 Free
Jacques 100% PBs and first time sub-30 for 50 Free
Thanks to all swimmers and their families who braved the elements and contributed to such a successful meet.
